Stone/Voice Instrument

This instrument inspired by notions of mysticism, sorcery, and nature worship. It is also about the idea of humans trying to find ways to control the elements. The performer has one goal in this piece, and that is to touch, rub, plead, or gesture towards the stone in order to conjure the wind (the sound of wind, or the ghost of the wind). This depends on many factors, such as the placement of the microphone and will take time and attention to master. After that point, the performer must control this wind and goad it into play music. The performer must, as a sorcerer or performer might, conjure an invisible spirit using means that are not altogether clear. It is a piece of discovery and attention to invisible forces, much like the sound object,
